excel - How to gather structural information of file? -

i writing function store 1 of sheets excel file. need repeat multiple times. think can use apply functions need check number of sheets in excel use is. there function or way check number of sheets (+ more information) of excel without opening file?

no, believe have open file reference other workgook work. way without open connection excel adodb provider , use sql query gather information, extreme overkill need.
